Oaks U13's welcomed Brixham to Horsham Fields, games between these sides are usually eventful and this lived up to it.
Brixham kicked to start. Archie caught it and started on a typically barnstorming run, deep into Brixham territory, offloading to Adam to continue before being recycled by Oaks forwards and taken forward again by Alfie J.
Following a defensive kick by Brixham to clear their lines, Dylan picked up the ball close to the right touchline, cut a diagonal line, beating several Brixham defenders to score in the opposite corner for the first try of the match.
Oaks 5 Brixham 0
Archie took the ball forwards, cutting incisive lines and taking 4 Brixham defenders to bring him down. This opened space for his team mates. Toby picked up the ball from the base of the ruck to complete a quickfire start for the Oaks.

Brixham were being roared on by their travelling support, after weathering the initial Oaks pressure, initially thwarted by tackles from Alex. Missed tackles allowed Brixham to score for a quick response.

Brixham continued to press, handling errors turned possession over to Oaks, ball being run forward by Alfie J, Toby who offloaded to Matt.
Oaks continued to look dangerous when running with the ball, Louis continued his impressive scoring by going over for another Oaks try following good work from Archie and Alfie J.

Cameron scored a try in the same way as Toby did earlier, picking the ball up from the base of the ruck to score under the posts
Oaks 20 Brixham 5 - End of 1st quarter.
Oaks opened the second quarter with a try from Charlie after good recycling by Oaks forwards. Chris took a characteristically quick tap before passing to Charlie who was in support
Oaks 25 Brixham 5
Louie looked like getting another try but was tackled into touch.
Archie extended the Oaks lead with his second try, breaking tackles and fending attempts as he blasted through Brixham defence.

Brixham replied with a try, courtesy of missed Oaks tackles.
Oaks 30 Brixham 10
Brixham were showing fighting spirit, Oaks had to show committed defence to keep them at bay. Brixham scored again to narrow the scores.

Brixham could sense blood, continue to attack. Try saving tackles were made by Ollie. Adam looked like he was going to score but was tackled strongly into touch just before reaching the try line.
Oaks finished the second quarter stronger, Owen going on a strong run and offloading just before drawing the tackle.
Half Time Oaks 30 Brixham 15
Oaks continued to attack, wary of the Brixham mini-comebacks during the match already. Matt picked up a loose ball, carried forward strongly before offloading to Toby who continued. Oaks forwards were retaining possession excellently throughout this match.
The Oaks backs continued to throw the ball around, Louis to Cameron, to Adam who nearly scored but was tackled agonisingly close to the line.
Louis scored the best team try of the match. Ball was passed from one wing to the other, Archie took the ball on for Louis to score.
Oaks 35 Brixham 15
Brixham continued to battle, Chris was playing in the unusual position of full-back but made a couple of try-saving tackles, as did Ollie. The rest of the 3rd quarter was quite scrappy, penalties being traded by both sides.
End of 3rd quarter - Oaks 35 Brixham 15
The final quarter started with pressure from Brixham, stopped by tackles by Dylan, Matt, Owen and Stan, Brixham scored with the hope of setting up a grandstand finish.
Oaks 35 Brixham 20
Brixham were putting in quite a few defensive kicks to clear their lines, Dylan picked up a loose ball, ran close to the Oaks left touchline before being tackled. Alfie then continued, followed by Owen and Charlie.
Alfie scored to end Brixham's hopes of a comeback following a quick tap and pass from Chris following a penalty decision. Brixham replied with a try of their own.
