Plymstock Albion Oaks U13's hosted the visit of Paignton RFC

Hoping to complete a home and away double over the Oaks. This match was played in 4 x 15 minute quarters.

Paignton kicked to start the game, Cameron Hill caught the spinning kick and made good ground into Paignton territory. Oaks moved through the phases, forwards were in good support of the backs but Paignton scored a breakaway try to open the scoring.

Roared on by home support, Oaks did not let their heads drop. More good play and recycled ball resulted in Louie Ellison scoring the Oaks first try, beating several attempted tackles before scoring in the left corner.

Oaks were putting some real grit into their tackles, led by Cameron Hill and Christopher Dunstan.

Adam Bradford received a ball through the backs before passing to Dylan Harbour joined from full-back to score.

Oaks continued to put in some strong tackling, this time from Christopher Dunstan, Dylan Harbour, Cameron Hill and Ollie Dunn.

Louie Ellison ran deep into Paignton territory after being fed by Ollie Dunn and carried strongly by Stanley Butchart.

Despite promising Oaks pressure, Paignton scored a good try to even the scores.

Ollie Dunn caught the restart and ran into the heart of the Paignton half, continued by Christopher Dunstan and Finn Morgan who offloaded to Charlie Brookes to score again for the Oaks.

Oaks forwards and backs continued to put in some hard tackles, Finn Morgan and Toby Robertson on this occasion.

Ollie Dunn scored for the Oaks, beating several would-be tacklers to extend the home team's advantage to end the first quarter.

Paignton started the 2nd quarter strongly, tackles missed by Oaks until Dylan Harbour tackled a Paignton player into touch to save an almost certain try.

Archie Norman made some really incisive runs during this match, met by some good defence by Paignton. Ball was being retained brilliantly by Oaks forwards, through Toby Robertson, Finn Morgan and Luca Manuell.

Cameron Hill made a try-saving tackle of this own but Paignton were not to be denied, scoring twice in quick succession to even the scores.

Luke Doonan caught the re-start, cut a brilliant line before being tackled on the halfway line. Archie Norman took the ball and broke several tackles before scoring under the posts.

Toby Robertson was rucking excellently, clearing opponents out to ensure ball was available for his Oaks teammates. Paignton continued to attack, tackles made by Dylan Harbour and Archie Norman.

The 3rd quarter began with a Paignton kick, which Archie Norman caught to set off on another barnstorming run before feeding Adam Bradford who beat several tackles with a run of his own.

A quick tap from Christopher Dunstan caught Paignton off-guard, Toby Robertson fended off tacklers before scoring again.

Oaks were clearly up for this, crunching tackles from Christopher Dunstan and Finn Morgan laid the platform for Alfie Jenkins to run before being tackled just short of the try line. Toby Robertson picked the ball up and scored again.

Toby Robertson completed his hat-trick after picking up the ball from the base of a ruck following a good scrum to extend Oaks lead.

Oaks were starting to pull away, Luke Doonan ran at Paignton before offloading to Archie Norman to score a third try and end the 3rd quarter.

The final quarter had only just started, a couple of phases later Archie Norman ran from just inside the Oaks half before scoring in the Oaks right corner and complete his hat-trick.

The Oaks backs continued to spin the ball out to the flanks, Luke Doonan to Ollie Dunn to Alfie Jenkins before Luca Manuell scored a try of his own, scoring in three consecutive matches.

Luke Doonan picked another cutting line before offloading to Archie Norman to score again.

Paignton scored a try in response following a good move of their own.

I must mention the excellent work by the forwards, a lot of which goes un-noticed in my reports due to the amount of bodies involved.

Man of the Match went to Archie Norman, recognising strong running, four tries and demonstrating development in his carrying technique to use both hands.
